Ufa, January 15 – IA Neftegaz.RU. RN-UfaNIPIneft specialists have completed the development of the first industrial version of the RN-SIGMA corporate software complex intended for geomechanical modeling while drilling.
The created software package allows the company’s engineers to expand the use of geomechanical methods for calculating the stability of the wellbore and reduce the risks of complications when drilling directional and horizontal wells.
The development of technological potential is one of the key elements of the Rosneft 2022 strategy.
The company pays special attention to innovation, identifying technological leadership as a key factor in competitiveness in the oil market.
The RN-SIGMA software package includes all the necessary tools for building a 1D geomechanical model: calculating the stress state in the vicinity of the borehole walls, analyzing the stability of the borehole and calculating the optimal drilling parameters.
The comparisons made during the development showed that the results of calculations in PH-SIGMA completely coincide with the best world analogues, and in terms of ease of mastering PH-SIGMA surpasses them.
The use of our own geomechanical simulator creates conditions for the formation of a single information space in the field of geomechanical modeling, knowledge accumulation and effective interaction of the company’s geomechanics.
At present, the RN-SIGMA software package is undergoing pilot tests for the purpose of subsequent replication at all the mining and research and design departments of the company.
